It looks like they finally sorted there channel pricing out.
Although the margins are still tight it means we can actually offer discount over there main site in many areas at last. It’s silly when you have to tell a customer to goto dell direct when you’re a partner but it looks like they’re getting there again.
How their recent news of a dell re-launch will go down is anyone’s guess.
They have been going too much down the price road. It doesn’t help if we as business’s see price over quality, so there has to come a point where you pay a small amount extra to make sure a firm gets it right.
Anyway a quick tip for buying something of dell, try getting to the same item via different pages.A live example (for now) would be:
http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/deals1?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&~ck=mn
vs
http://www1.euro.dell.com/uk/en/home/Dell-Laptops/laptop-studio-1555/pd.aspx?refid=laptop-studio-1555&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&~ck=mn
The link in the first one has a 500gb hard disk vs a 320gb and an extra gig of memory for the same price.
It pays to shop about on the dell site as those as extras would of set you back around £80. Not bad for four clicks…
However the eagle eyed among you will notice the drop in the processor ever so slightly, so make sure you do a full comparision first as the fast tracks can’t have there spec amended.
p.s. Public can buy vostro’s from the business section and sometimes they work out better deals. Just don’t forget to add all the vat and delivery and check them side by side before you order! However the business support tends to be a lot better on the laptops vs consumer.
